More independence for your child. More backup for you.

Help your child explore the world with an extra layer of safety, connection, and caregiver support for busy days, outings, travel, school routines, and moments when wandering is a concern.

A practical safety tool for families

GPS watches designed to help parents stay connected

For some children with autism, wandering, bolting, transitions, busy public spaces, or difficulty explaining where they are can create extra worry for families and caregivers. A Lil Tracker GPS watch gives your child a wearable way to stay connected without handing them a full smartphone.

It is not a substitute for supervision or a safety plan, but it can be a helpful extra layer of support for everyday routines, real-life outings, and moments when caregivers need a quick way to locate or contact the watch.

📍

Accurate outdoor GPS

Outdoors with a strong GPS signal and clear view of the sky, location can often be accurate within a few metres. Backup positioning helps when GPS is not practical.

📞

Simple calling

Children can call approved contacts, and caregivers can call the watch when the SIM plan includes voice service.

🆘

SOS support

The SOS button gives your child a simple way to reach preset emergency contacts when they need help.

Safety zones

Set larger geofence areas around places like home, school, camp, a caregiver’s house, or other familiar locations.

👪

Family and caregiver access

Multiple family members and caregivers can connect through the Lil Tracker GPS app. The first user becomes the administrator.

🔒

Removal-resistant options

Optional lockable bands can help when a child is likely to remove the watch during the day.

Everyday independence

Helpful when your child is becoming more independent

Lil Tracker watches are designed for everyday family life, including school routines, summer activities, parks, travel, busy sidewalks, amusement parks, sports, after-school activities, and family outings.

For children who may wander, bolt, or have difficulty communicating their location, the watch gives caregivers another way to check in and respond.

  • Useful for public places, transitions, and busy family days
  • Lets caregivers call or locate the watch from the app
  • Gives children a wearable communication option without a full phone
  • Supports independence while helping parents stay connected

Comfort matters

A wearable device your child can get used to

For many families, the right GPS tracker is not only about features. It also needs to be something the child can actually wear.

Lil Tracker kids watches are colorful, wearable, and designed for children. Families can choose the model and color that best fit their child’s age, preferences, and routine.

  • Child-friendly watch format
  • Bright color options for kids
  • Simple access to approved contacts
  • Optional lockable bands for children who remove devices
Lockable band option

For children who may remove their watch

Some children are more likely to remove wearable devices during the day, especially during transitions, school routines, outings, or sensory-sensitive moments. For those families, the optional Lil Tracker lockable band can be an important part of the setup.

The lockable band is designed to make removal more difficult, helping caregivers keep the GPS watch in place during the times they need it most.

  • Useful for children who remove regular watch bands
  • Helpful for school, outings, travel, camp, and busy routines
  • Designed as an added layer of support for caregivers
  • Pairs with compatible Lil Tracker kids GPS watches

A stronger setup for wandering concerns

For families dealing with wandering, bolting, or device removal, the watch and lockable band can work together as a more practical everyday safety setup.

As with any wearable device, fit, comfort, and caregiver supervision still matter. The lockable band is not a restraint, but it can make casual removal much harder.

Wandering and safety zones

Use GPS tracking and geofences as part of a larger safety plan

Families often use Lil Tracker watches when wandering, bolting, or public outings are a concern. The watch can help caregivers check location, call the child, and receive alerts from larger safety zones.

Geofencing is useful for larger areas around places like home, school, camp, a caregiver’s house, or familiar public spaces. It is best for general area awareness, not instant doorway-level alerts or tiny boundaries.

Important: A GPS watch is a support tool. It should be used together with supervision, family routines, school or caregiver protocols, and emergency planning.
SIM card required

The watch needs its own cellular connection

Lil Tracker kids GPS watches use a nano SIM card so the watch can connect to the cellular network independently from a parent’s phone.

For GPS tracking, app communication, calling, SOS, and voice features, the SIM plan must support the features you want to use.

  • Nano SIM card required
  • Mobile data required for GPS tracking and app communication
  • Voice service required for calling and SOS calls
  • SMS support may be needed for setup and network functions
  • Coverage depends on the carrier and your area

For United States customers

SpeedTalk is our current recommended SIM option for GPS tracker watches in the United States.

For international customers

Use a compatible local SIM card with mobile data, SMS, and voice service, provided the carrier supports the required network bands and has coverage in your area.

Frequently asked questions

GPS trackers for autism FAQ

Common questions from parents and caregivers choosing a GPS watch for a child with autism.

Can a GPS watch help if my child wanders?

Yes, it can help caregivers check the child’s watch location, call the watch, and use features such as SOS and geofencing. It does not prevent wandering by itself, but it can be a helpful extra layer of support for families and caregivers.

Can my child remove the watch?

Like most wearable devices, a standard watch can be removed. If removal is a concern, Lil Tracker offers optional lockable watch bands designed to make removal more difficult. View lockable watch bands.

Can I call the watch?

Yes, when the watch has an active compatible SIM plan with voice service. You can call the watch, and your child can call approved contacts.

Does the watch work without a smartphone?

The child does not need a smartphone. The watch has its own SIM card and cellular connection. Parents and caregivers use the Lil Tracker GPS app on their own phones.

Can multiple caregivers use the app?

Yes. Multiple family members and caregivers can connect to the watch through the Lil Tracker GPS app. The first person to connect becomes the administrator, and additional approved users can be added so parents, grandparents, caregivers, or support workers can help stay connected.

How accurate is the GPS location?

Outdoors, on a clear day with a strong GPS signal and few obstructions, GPS can be highly accurate, often within a few metres. Buildings, heavy tree cover, indoor use, weak cellular coverage, weather, or limited sky view can reduce accuracy. When GPS is not practical, the watch may use backup positioning such as Wi-Fi or cellular tower location, which can still help caregivers understand the general area but may be less precise.

Is geofencing instant?

No. Geofencing is best for larger safety zones and general area awareness. It is not designed for instant doorway alerts, very small boundaries, or immediate alerts the second a child crosses a line. Learn how GPS geofencing works.

Which Lil Tracker model is best for a child with autism?

It depends on your child’s age, comfort, routine, style preference, and battery needs. ProX is the most advanced kids model, Max is a balanced option, and the Kids model is the classic colorful choice for younger children.

Are Lil Tracker watches waterproof?

Lil Tracker watches are rated for everyday water exposure such as handwashing, rain, and splashes. IP67 protection means the watch is built to handle accidental water exposure better than a non-rated device. That said, it is not designed for swimming, bathing, hot tubs, soap, salt water, or prolonged water exposure, and water resistance can decrease over time with wear, impact, or improper charging-port closure. Read our IP67 water resistance guide.
